How can we help?
It is a key requirement of the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and the Ionising Radiation (Medical) Exposure Regulations 2017 (IRMER17) that your dental X-ray equipment be adequately tested and examined at appropriate intervals .
Our dental x-ray testing service will provide you with the peace of mind that your X-ray equipment is compliant, safe and reliable.
We visit dental practices across the UK to test your X-ray equipment in line with the ‘Guidance Notes for Dental Practitioners on the Safe Use of X-ray Equipment’. We test your sets using our own calibrated test equipment, avoiding the need to send off test packs for processing. We provide a full report and certificate valid for 3 years to ensure that your equipment meets the requirements of radiation protection legislation (IRR17 and IRMER17). Where appropriate, we can also make scattered dose-rate measurements, to be able to provide additional information on the safety of staff and visitors to the practice. We work closely with an independent Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) / Medical Physics Expert (MPE) business, and together can give a complete radiation protection service.
We provide routine QA testing to assess patient dose as well as the performance characteristics of your X-ray machines and a mandatory critical examination/acceptance test when a new machine is installed, moved or modified.
